ALBANY, G.A. --- Allen women's basketball saw everyone score Saturday, including four finish in double-figures, in a 69-64 victory at Albany State.
Trailing early-on, 11-8, the Yellow Jackets scored eight points over the final 1:15 of the first quarter with shots from
Taliah Wesley,
Zion Duncan, and
Talayah Boxley and a pair of free-throws from
Mya Johnson to take a 16-15 lead after the first. Allen never trailed in the second quarter and took a 35-31 advantage into the half. A close-battle in the second half saw multiple lead changes from both SIAC foes, but with 2:25 left in the third quarter Allen took the lead for the final time and never relinquished it again.
Johnson led the way for Allen with a 16-point performance. Wesley added 14 points in the victory, along with Duncan scoring 13 points and Boxley finishing with 12 points. All eight Yellow Jackets scored in the victory while all totaling double-digit minutes.
Allen remains on the road with a visit to Fort Valley State set for Monday, Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
