MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- The Allen University men's wrestling team split their two dual matches at Sunday's Trojan Duals, hosted by the University of Mount Olive. The Yellow Jackets defeated Conference Carolinas foe Emory & Henry, 38-14, in the first dual of the day, and later fell to UMO, 49-5. 

Against E&H, Xavier Anderson continued his strong freshman campaign with a tech fall victory, 17-1, in 3:44 to kick-off the match at the 125 weight class. Next up, Derrius Coleman added six team points with a victory at 133. Then in the 149 weight class, Drevon Wallace defeated E&H's Isaiah Dotson in 3:34 with a 15-0 tech fall win. At 157, Quincy Gash earned a major decision, 12-4, to push Allen's lead to 20-6. Gash was followed by fellow Yellow Jackets Ya'Donnis Hardaway at 165, Jerrel Baskins at 184, and Chandler Allen at 285 with victories. 

Later against UMO, the preseason No. 5 squad in Conference Carolinas, the Yellow Jackets saw Wallace emerge victorious again with his second 15-0 tech fall win of the day. Wallace's win over UMO's Christian Orozco came in 6:21, and marked his team-leading sixth victory of the season.

Allen closes out the month of December with a break and will be back on the mat on January 3 when they return to Mount Olive for a second dual that will count towards their Conference Carolinas record, unlike Sunday's contest. The match that day will begin following the women's dual between the two schools, which has a scheduled start time of 2:00 p.m.
