COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Although they were able to force a deciding fifth set Thursday night, the Allen University volleyball team was unable to overcome Livingstone in non-conference action (25-19, 16-25, 21-25, 25-22, 9-15).
Allen was led by
Maliyah Spencer with 15 kills, marking her sixth time reaching double-figures this season. Spencer was followed by
Jaida Hansen who set an Allen career-best with 11 kills. Aiding their efforts was
Sa'Nyah Daly who tallied 22 assists and
Nakia Reed who recorded 17. Defensively,
Shelly Terry had the a record-setting night. The sophomore middle made seven solo blocks, the most by a Yellow Jacket in Allen's NCAA era (since 2021) regardless of set count.
Myra Lopez also recorded a team-best 26 digs in Thursday's effort.
The Yellow Jackets aim for a bounce-back performance Saturday, November 9 when they travel to Albany State for SIAC play. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Albany, Georgia.
