MEMPHIS, T.N. --- The Allen University women's basketball team faced their first SIAC foe of the season Saturday night, and came away victorious. The Yellow Jackets defeated LeMoyne-Owen, 79-65. 

Allen got the offensive start to Saturday's contest that they were looking for, as the Yellow Jackets opened the game on a 7-0 run, and held a 28-23 advantage after the first quarter. As a team, Allen shot 75% (12-of-16) from the floor in the opening quarter. Later at the halftime break, the Yellow Jackets were ahead by 13 points, 42-29.

Never trailing at any point Saturday, Allen held strong to secure their fifth victory of the season. 

Taliah Wesley led all Allen scorers with 18 points, followed by Morgan Smith (14), Kacey Smith (13), and Eboni Clay (11). Peighton Jambor recorded a team-best seven rebounds in the win. 

The Yellow Jackets aim for their second straight SIAC victory on Monday, December 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Lane College.
