MEMPHIS, T.N. --- The Allen University men's basketball team suffered their first SIAC loss of the season Saturday night at LeMoyne-Owen, falling 62-60.
After being tied at the break, 28-28, the Yellow Jackets faced a seven-point deficit with 16 minutes left. However, Allen mounted a 9-2 run over the next five minutes to tie the game back at 39-39. From there, the Yellow Jackets and Magicians exchanged the lead multiple times over the final 10 minutes before they saw the game tied at 60-60 with less than a minute remaining. LeMoyne-Owen made two free throws with 14 seconds remaining to take a two-point lead. The Yellow Jackets had one final look at the basket as D.J. Stubbs lifted a three-point shot from the left wing, but it bounced off to end the game.
Jordan Edmond led the Yellow Jackets with a season-best 19 points to pair with a team-high seven rebounds. Joining Edmond in double-figures was
Marc Raye Jr. with 13 points on five-of-10 shooting.
Allen looks to bounce-back on Monday, December 2nd at Lane College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Jackson, Tennessee.
