Allen Takes Second Set but Falls to South Carolina State

COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Despite taking the second set, the Allen University volleyball team was unable to overcome NCAA Division I foe South Carolina State. The Yellow Jackets fell in four sets (15-25, 25-21, 24-26, 11-25). 

Maliyah Spencer led Allen with eight kills, followed by Sydney Ross and Dazzalon Larkins with six kills each. Zyara Harrison aided the Yellow Jackets' efforts Wednesday night with a team-best 12 assists. On the defenside end, Taylor Lawrence totaled five blocks and Myra Lopez recorded 15 digs. 

The Yellow Jackets will return to conference play as they travel to the SIAC West Crossover in Memphis, Tennessee. Allen will play three matches across two days beginning on Friday, October 11 at 9:00 a.m. against Tuskegee.
