MOBILE, AL --- Although redshirt freshman guard
Jordan Edmond set a new career-high with 14 points Saturday, it would not be enough as Allen was defeated by Spring Hill, 80-68.
After facing a small deficit for the majority of the second half, Allen was able to cut Spring Hill's lead down to one point, 65-64, with five minutes remaining. However, the Badgers would close out the game on a 15-4 run as the Yellow Jackets missed seven of their final nine shots in the second half.
"Spring Hill beat us tonight," said Coach Shawn Walker. "They just made a couple more timely plays and outlasted us."
Joining Edmond is double figures was Nakia Johnson, who finished with 12 points on (5-6) shooting from the floor. Junior guard
Talton Jones added 10 points, meanwhile
Peyton Weathersby finished with nine points and a team-best nine rebounds in the loss.
"Proud of our effort and spirit after a tough loss Thursday day," said Walker. "We have learned a lot and I'm looking forward to getting back to practice next week."
Allen returns to Columbia for six days before continuing SIAC play at Morehouse College Saturday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m.
