MOBILE, AL --- Despite a competitive three quarters and 11 lead changes, a fourth quarter surge pushed Spring Hill past Allen Saturday, 63-44.
At the end of the third quarter, Allen had managed to cut into a six-point halftime deficit and trailed by just two, 40-38, entering the final 10 minutes of regulation. However, Spring Hill posed problems for the Yellow Jackets' offense as Allen was held to six points on (2-13) shooting in the fourth. Meanwhile the Badgers' offense tallied 23 points in the final quarter to secure the victory.
Taliah Wesley led the way for the Yellow Jackets with 15 points - her sixth game in double figures this season. On the defensive end, Allen controlled the boards, outrebounding Spring Hill, 44-36, as both
Zion Duncan and
JuJu Harrington pulled down 12 rebounds each.
Allen will have the next nine days off before traveling to Atlanta, Georgia to face-off with Clark Atlanta in SIAC play. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. on January 15th.
