COLUMBIA, SC --- Second-half turnovers were costly for Allen women's basketball in Monday's 64-49 loss to Savannah State.
In total, the Yellow Jackets turned the ball over 22 times, including 14 times in the second half, to the Tigers' 12, as Savannah State then capitalized and scored 21 points off Allen's turnovers thorughout the night. A two-point defeict at the half, 27-25, Savanah State stormed out in the second half and pushed their lead to 10 by the end of the third quarter with four Tigers scoring in double-figures by night's end.
Kash Hankerson led the way for Allen with 20 points, an effort that included four made three-pointers. Monday marked the second time this season Hankerson has scored at-least 20 points (11/20/23 vs. Morris), and her seventh time finishing with over 15 points - both are team-highs.
On the defensive end,
Victoria Zidor and
Talayah Boxley controlled the boards in Monday's contest with seven and six rebounds, respectivley.
