COLUMBIA, SC --- For the second time this season, Allen guard
Kash Hankerson finished with 18 points yet it would not be enough as the Yellow Jackets were unable to complete their comeback effort Saturday against Fort Valley State, 68-58.
Despite trailing by 12 at the half, the Yellow Jackets would not be deterred as Allen stormed back in the second half to outscore the Wildcats 35-33 over the final two quarters. To begin the fourth quarter, Fort Valley State held a 50-43 lead. However, over the next six minutes, Allen was able to nearly battle-back and tie the game, drawing as close as a three-point deficit, 59-56. Yet, Fort Valley State closed the game on a 7-2 run to close out the victory.
Hankerson led the way for Allen with 18 points Saturday afternoon. Meanwhle
Nari Coe provided an offensive spark off-the-bench scoring 13 points, to pair with three steals. On both ends of the floor,
Jaida Reddin proved to be a difference maker Saturday tallying nine points, five rebounds, and four steals. Joining the rebounding efforts included
JuJu Harrington with a team-high eight rebounds and
