FORT VALLEY, Ga. - The Allen University softball team fell in game three of their conference series with Fort Valley State on Sunday going down 10-2 on the road.

Daeshonna Beckham-Timmons held FVSU to just two runs while striking out three over the first two innings on an RBI double and a passed ball. However, FVSU would find their offense and get to Beckham in the third inning sending 11 women to the plate and scoring 7 runs on two RBI singles, two RBI doubles and a wild pitch to take a 9-0 lead.

Mattie Riddick led off the frame with a single before CF
Morgan Moon advanced Riddick to third on a double. An RBI single from Beckham then drove in Riddick before Beckham stole second base. Moon then scored the Yellow Jacket's second run on a wild pitch before FVSU settled down and struck out the side to end the threat.
Beckham then tossed a scoreless 4th inning with a strikeout before she recorded a strike-em-out throw-em-out double play in the 5th as freshmen catcher Marcell Hernandez threw out a runner attempting to steal second. However, FVSU finished off the game with back to back hits to win it 10-2.
Beckham tossed 4 and 2.3 innings allowing 8 earned runs on 10 hits while walking three and striking out five.
Riddick led the offense with two hits while Morgan recorded the lone extra-base hit with her double. Allen totaled 4 hits on the day with Beckham grabbing the 4th hit to improve her average to .257.
FVSU improves to 12-17 overall and 9-8 in the SIAC while Allen falls to 1-17 in the conference.
The Lady Jackets will next return home to host CIAA foe Livingstone College (1-12) on Wednesday at 2 PM from MLK Park.
