SAN JUAN, P.R. - The 9th ranked Allen University men's wrestling team (14-6), led by head coach
Eric Pack and #1 seed returning All-American
Michael Jackson (184 lbs) will lead the AU grapplers in the NCWA National Tournament, which starts tomorrow at 10 AM from San Juan, Puerto Rico Convention Center.
The seven nationally qualified Jackets flew into San Juan late Tuesday night and are prepping Wednesday for the opening two sessions on Thursday. The Round of 32 begins at 10 followed by the Round of 16 at 5 PM.
Session III Quarterfinals begin at 10 Friday while the men's semifinals take flight at 6:30. consolation final action and the championship round go off at 1:30 pm and 6 PM respectively on Saturday.Â

Jackson, 27-4 this season and is coming off a championship at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament on Feb. 25, is paired up against an unseeded MIT grappler in the first round. There are six rounds for Jackson in the championship bracket that he will have to win for the title while the top 8 in the weight class will become All-Americans.
Other seeded grapplers for the Yellow Jackets include #23 sophomoreÂ
Reco Robinson (7-13) at 125 lbs as he received a bye into the Round of 32 while 19th seeded freshman
Quincy Gash (11-14) will begin Thursday at 10 am in first round action at 141 lbs. Junior 149 pounder
Drevon Wallace (18-14) will also begin his run in the second round as the #18 seed taking on a foe from Northeastern Univ.
Next at 157 lbs will be 13th seeded freshmanÂ
Ya'Donnis Hardaway (19-14) as he also receives a bye into Thursday night's second round. Then, junior
Terrence Mills (15-8) got the #11 seed at 165 lbs and will begin in the first round Thursday morning against a grappler from RPI (NY). Finally, freshman heavyweight
Emmanuel Velazquez (11-7) got the #16 seed will take on a grappler from the Penn St. Wrestling Club.
The 14 wins for AU and .700 winning percentage on the season are both Allen wrestling school records. The Yellow Jackets finished third as a team at last month's Regional Qualifier while top-ranked Liberty University enters nationals as the favorite.Â
This is also the final season that Allen will compete in the NCWA Tournament as the school will officially join the D-2 Conference Carolinas next season that consists of 14 schools.
