COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen University softball team fell 10-0 to rival Benedict College at home on Monday afternoon as the teams finished their conference series.
Benedict led by only one run after two innings as senior starting pitcher
Daeshonna Beckham-Timmons struck out two over two innings while only allowing a run on a passed ball. BC then scored four runs in the third inning as two walks and an error were followed by a two-run single.
An RBI single and a two-run triple then made it 9-0 BC after four innings. Beckham threw all five innings allowing 9 earned runs on 7 hits while walking five and striking out five.

Rachel Rolle registered a double in the fifth, but was thrown out at third trying to extend it to a triple.
BC improves to 12-14 on the season and 5-5 in the conference while Allen falls to 1-26 overall and 1-12 in the SIAC. Allen will head back out on the road on Tuesday to face Winston-Salem St. in a 2 PM doubleheader.
