CU got out to a fast start scoring 4 runs (only 2 earned) in the first off AU starter Beckham-Timmons, Daeshonna before adding three more in the second inning with two of them off wild pitches as Beckham-Timmons struggled with her control in her season debut. CU then add four more runs in the third to out the game out of reach going up 11-0.

Allen then came back for two runs each in the 4th and 5th innings to get within nine runs, but not enough to continue the game past five innings.
