COLUMBIA, SC - The Allen University Softball team dropped both ends of their non-conference doubleheader vs Lincoln University (Pa.) at home on Friday afternoon.
LU was leading just 6-2 after four innings in game one before getting to senior starter
Daeshonna Beckham-Timmons for two runs in the 5th and 10 in the 6th to clinch the game.Â
Timmons allowed 10 earned runs on 12 hits while walking five and striking out six.Â
Allen scored one run each in the 3rd and 4th innings on RF
Michaela Barron's RBI single that scored CF
Morgan Moon, who had tripled and CÂ
Marcell Hernandez's RBI single that scored 3BÂ
Rachel Rolle. Also recording hits in game one were Rolle, senior shortstop
Chyna Davis and outfielder
Meosha McKnight.
Barron and Rolle each stole a base in the loss as well while SSU took advantage of seven Jacket errors to get the win.
In game two, LU rolled to the 17-1 win in five innings. AU starter
Rachel Rolle (0-2) threw five innings allowing 14 earned runs on 11 hits while walking nine and striking out one.
Offensively, Allen was led by
Morgan Moon's two hits and Hernandez's double. Moon and Spencer also stole bases. Rolle also came around to score in the 5th on a wild pitch before the game was called with one out in the bottom of the 5th due to lightning.
Lincoln improved to 5-6 with the wins while Allen fell to 0-12.
