ATLANTA, GA - The Allen University men's basketball team fell on the road at Clark Atlanta University 62-55 on Saturday afternoon.

Led by AJ Baker's 8 points, Allen got out to early leads of 7-3, 14-10 and 16-12 with 7:40 to play, but CAU finished the first half on a 17-8 run to take a 5-point lead into the break.

CAU would then jump out to a quick 12-point lead at 36-24 to begin the second half before Allen slowly clawed back to within 5 points at 42-47 on a Reggie Reynolds three with 5:30 to play. Allen would get to within four points on a Williams free throw with under 30 seconds play, however, that would be as close as the Yellow Jackets could get in falling in the conference battle.

Senior guard AJ Baker led the Jackets with 16 points and two threes along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals while playing 32 minutes. Shooting guards Darius Williams and Shawn Jones Jr. also each scored 9 points apiece with Jones leading the team with four assists and grabbed two steals. 

Point guard Chase Cook also finished with a team-best four steals and scored 6 points while senior forward Reggie Reynolds scored 5 points in 38 minutes with a team-best 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a block. Freshman forward Nakia Johnson also played well off the bench finishing with 8 points on 4 of 5 shooting along with 4 rebounds, a block and a steal.

Allen drops to 4-21 on the season and 4-16 in the SIAC while CAU improved to 8-18 overall and 7-13 in conference. AU will complete their regular season with their final conference game on the road at Morehouse College on Monday evening in downtown Atlanta.
