COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen University volleyball team cruised to an easy 3-0 sweep of Paine College (Ga.) on Monday evening from Adams Gym.
Allen won 25-12, 25-11, and 25-15 totaling 45 kills and hitting .322, led by an impressive night from freshman hitter
Tahmiah Lawson who had 9 kills ans hit .667. Sophomore OH
Maliyah Spencer also recorded 9 kills on the night hitting .353 and leads the team with 260 kills on the year.
Allen posted 16 kills and hit .462 in the first set before putting down 15 kills and hitting .373 in the second. In the third set, Allen trailed 5-4 before going on a 6-0 run to lead 10-5. After Paine cut it to two at 9-11, Allen would then extend it to 15-9 and eventually 22-14 before putting it away 25-15 for their 13th win of the season tying last year's total.Â

Kayla Chambliss, who recently achieved her 1,000th career assist at Allen, led the team with 20 assists along with 5 kills and 4 digs while hitting .273. Defensive liberos

Jayda Woodson posted a combination of 17 assists along with 3 digs from Williams.
Senior middle
Marlaysia Westbrook also played well recording 5 kills, 2 aces, a block and 4 digs while hitting .500. Right side hitters

Cadence Leaks combined for 8 kills as well.
Allen is now 13-13 and Paine falls to 3-16. AU will next go on the road for the final time to face Savannah St on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
