COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen University Volleyball team made another stirring comeback this season as they stormed back twice to stun the Fort Valley St Wildcats in five sets on Sunday afternoon winning 15-13 in the final set.

Maliyah Spencer led Allen with an impressive game notching 16 kills with only 3 errors and hitting .419 while fellow OH, freshmanÂ
Tahmiah Lawson, had a good game as well recording 12 kills and hitting .296 with a block and 2 digs.
Allen got off to a strong start leading 13-5 in the first set before FVSUÂ mounted a rally of their own to take a 16-15 lead. Allen, though would regain their lead going up 20-17 before holding off th Lady Cats 25-23 for the set win on 10 kills hitting .350. Fort Valley then got off to a quick start in the second set en route to a 25-18 win on 16 kills before also running away with the third set 25-17 taking advantage of AU attack errors as they would take a 2-1 set lead.
However, Allen began to rally in the fourth. FVSU actually got out to a 6-1 lead in the 4th set until the Lady Jackets went on a long 14-5 run to take a 15-11 lead on kills from Lawson and junior middle

Kayla Chambliss. Allen ran their lead to six at 21-15 before back to back kills from junior middle
Taylor Lawrence clinched the set for AU.
Finally, in the 5th set, Allen again put themselves into a hole trailing 9-2 as FVSU started off strong. Allen, though stormed back clawing to within 9-6 on FVSU errors and a Spencer kill. After the Cats pushed their lead to 10-6, the Yellowjackets would go on a 6-0 run including kills from Spencer and senior middle
Marlaysia Westbrook to take their first lead of the set at 12-11. Then, kills by Spencer and Lawson made it 14-11 while another Lawson kill clinched the big win.
Chambliss again had a big game tallying 26 assists with 6 kills, 4 digs, and three aces while freshman libero
Myra Lopez recorded 27 digs, 3 assists and 3 aces. Ross also played well finishing with 8 kills and hitting .263 while Lawrence had 5 kills and 3 blocks. Westbrook registered 5 kills and 3 blocks also.
AU improves to 12-13 on the season and 5-11 in the conference moving to 6th in the SIAC East while FVSU falls to 11-14 and 5-12.
Allen wil next remain home to host Paine College Monday evening at 6:30 pm.
