CLEVELAND, Ga. - the Allen University wrestling team split their tri-meet dual matches on the road at NAIA foe Truett-McConnell University (Ga.) on Wednesday night. Allen defeated the TMU Bears 29-18 before falling to Div. II power Emmanuel College (Ga.) 49-4.
Junior 133 pounder
Nyshaad Hannon led the Yellow Jackets by going 2-0 with a pin and major decision on the night totaling 10 team points for Allen.
Against TMU, Hannon's second period fall was followed by freshmanÂ
Quincy Gash's 22-6 technical fall win at 141 lbs that staked Allen to an 11-5 lead after three bouts. After

Moise Toussaint then came back with a 2 minute first period fall at 157 lbs as Allen went up 17-9 at the halfway point.Â

Terrence Mills followed with a dominating 12-2 major decision win at 174 lbs while Junior
Michael Jackson grabbed a match-clinching 7-5 overtime win at 184 lbs as Allen would lead 23-15.
Christian Poplous dropped a hard-fought 8-4 decision at 197 lbs before
D'Andre Wilkerson picked up the forfeit win at Heavyweight as Allen improved to 13-3 on the season.
Against Emmanuel, Allen was led by Hannon's 17-8 major decision win while the rest of the Yellow Jackets unfortunately could not get on the board. Mike Jackson had the best effort among them as he fell 12-5 at 184 lbs.
Emmanuel improves to 6-4 on the season while Truett falls to 4-11. Allen now stands at 13-4 on the year as their 8-match win streak was snapped but the team is still off to their best start in school history.
Allen next returns to action next Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Newberry College Open at 9:00 am.
