COLUMBIA, S.C. - Darius Williams tallied 23 points and eight rebounds to help the Allen men's basketball team earn a 77-69 victory over Fort Valley State Monday at Adams Gymnasium.

Stanley Christian and Anthony Baker Jr., contributed significantly as they combined for 30 points and 20 rebounds. Reginald Reynolds also had a solid performance as he tallied 11 points and seven rebounds.  

With the victory, Allen improves to 5-15 on the year while Fort Valley State falls to 5-15.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Williams had arguably his best shooting performance of the season as he shot 5-9 from three. 
• The first half was tightly contested as the two teams battled to a 33-33 ledger at the break.
• Christian and Williams combined to shoot 13-15 from the charity stripe.
• Allen held Fort Valley State to 25% shooting from three for the game.
• Baker Jr., shot 5-6 from the field and attempted a game-high 11 free throws.
• For the second consecutive game, Allen tallied more rebounds and assists than its opponent.
• The Yellow Jackets won the second half, 44-36, which proved to be the difference in the game.
