COLUMBIA, S.C. - Stanley Christian tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds, but the Allen men's basketball team fell to Benedict, 54-68, Thursday night at Adams Gymnasium.
With the loss, Allen falls to 5-16 while Benedict improves to 17-5 on the year.
Anthony Baker Jr. and Darius Williams both had stellar performances as the duo combined for 22 points and 15 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Despite trailing early in the game, Allen entered halftime with a three point lead.Â
- Although Christian didn't start the game, he made his presence felt in the first half, notching nine points in only eight minutes of action.
- Williams filled the stat sheet in the first half registering seven points, five rebounds and four assists.Â
- After tying the score at 30, Benedict went on an 8-0 run to take a 38-30 lead. Allen quickly went on a 8-0 run of its own, to tie the game, 38-38.
- Benedict then responded with a 13-2 run to take an 11 point lead and never looked back.
- As a team, Allen out-rebounded Benedict, 44-41, for the game.Â

Allen will look to bounce back when it hits the road to face Savannah State Saturday.
