COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen men's basketball team fell to SIAC foe Clark Atlanta, 80-93, Saturday at Adams Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Stanley Christian who tallied 21 points, 18 rebounds and five assists. Anthony Baker Jr., also had an excellent performance as he notched 20 points and five rebounds.
Darius Williams effectively orchestrated the Allen offense, logging 19 points and six assists.
The Yellow Jackets registered more rebounds, assists and steals than Clark Atlanta but were unable to come out with the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Clark Atlanta was led by Chris Martin who logged 26 points, including 14 in the second half.
- The Panthers came out aggressive in the first half as they entered the break with a 49-32 lead.
- Clark Atlanta registered 15 points off turnovers in the first half, which proved to be the difference.
- In the first half, Allen was led by Christian and Baker Jr., as they both tallied 10 points.
- The Yellow Jackets came out strong in the second half and ended up winning the frame, 48-44.
- Williams made his presence felt in the second half, notching 14 points and four assists.
- Allen cut the lead to single digits on numerous occasions but was unable to come away with the victory.
