COLUMBIA, S.C. - After trailing by 13 points at halftime, the Allen women's basketball team earned a 66-59 victory over Albany State Saturday at Adams Gymnasium.
Allen has now won two of its last three games after losing five consecutive.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Cardrina Nolen who registered 23 points and five rebounds. Jazeem Bethea also had a solid performance as she logged 12 points off the bench.
Seniors Jayda Jackson, Cyntheria Sullivan and Aniya Keeling all contributed significantly as they combined for 15 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Albany State had a dominant first half and took a 13 point lead into halftime.
- Allen came out in the third quarter firing on all cylinders and overcame the 13 point deficit by winning the third frame, 28-15.
- As a team, Allen shot over 60% in the third quarter.
- Allen applied pressure defensively in the fourth quarter, holding Albany State to 12 points for the frame.
- For the game, Allen forced 19 turnovers and logged 12 steals.
- The Yellow Jackets went on to win the game, 66-59.
