COLUMBIA, S.C. - Despite a 29 point and nine rebound performance from Anthony Baker Jr., the Allen men's basketball team fell to Morehouse, 80-66, Thursday night at Adams Gymnasium.
With the loss, Allen falls to 6-18 while Morehouse improves to 17-6. The Maroon Tigers have now won 14 consecutive games.
Stanley Christian joined Baker Jr., as the only Yellow Jackets to score in double-figures as he notched 16 points, along with 11 rebounds.
Early in the first half, the two teams battled to an 18-15 ledger before Baker Jr. threw down a monstrous dunk to pull Allen within one.
Following the dunk from Baker Jr., Morehouse went on a 24-1 run to close the first half.
Allen displayed a resilient effort in the second half but was unable to narrow the deficit to single figures.
Baker Jr. registered 19 of his 29 points in the second half to lead Allen. Shawn Jones also had an excellent second half as he tallied eight points and five assists.
For the game, Allen shot 12-16 from the free-throw line and logged 12 second chance points.
