COLUMBIA, S.C. - Stanley Christian registered 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Allen men's basketball team to a 73-64 victory over Voorhees College Tuesday night.
With the victory, Allen improves to 6-17 on the year.
Anthony Baker Jr. had one of his best performances of the season, tallying 20 points and eight rebounds. Darius Williams also had a stellar performance as he logged 12 points and eight rebounds.Â
Head coach Keith Walker went deep into his rotation as 13 players saw action on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The first half started as a back-and-forth affair with Allen holding a one point lead midway through the frame.
- Allen eventually pulled away and took an eight point lead into the break.
- Christian and Baker Jr. combined for 22 points and 12 rebounds in the first half.Â
- The Yellow Jackets came out aggressive in the second half and went up by 21 with 4:36 remaining in the game.
- Allen held Voorhees to 13-38 shooting from the field in the second half.
- The Yellow Jackets tallied more rebounds and assists than Voorhees.
- Voorhees fought to get back in the contest, narrowing the deficit to seven late in the game, but Allen refused to relinquish the lead.Â
- The Yellow Jackets went on to earn a 73-64 victory.
