COLUMBIA, S.C. - Cardrina Nolen tallied 26 points and six rebounds to lead the Allen women's basketball to a 78-46 victory over Voorhees College Monday at Adams Gymnasium.
With the victory, Allen improves to 6-15 on the year while Voorhees falls to 8-12.Â
Nolen shot an efficient 12-15 from the field in only 17 minutes of action. The Conway, Ark., native registered 18 of her 26 points in the third quarter.
Chardae Greene also had a strong performance as she logged 10 points and five rebounds while shooting 50% from the field.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Allen's defense proved to be the difference in the contest as the Yellow Jackets tallied 15 steals and eight blocks, while holding Voorhees to 2-20 shooting from beyond the arc.
- Allen came out aggressive, jumping out to a 23-7 lead in the first quarter.Â
- The second frame was tightly contested as the two teams battled to a 14-14 ledger for the quarter.
- At the half, Allen held a 37-21 lead and Nolen led all scorers with eight points.
- Nolen dominated the third quarter, scoring 18 of Allen's 23 points in the frame.Â
- The Yellow Jackets held a 31 point lead after three quarters and coasted to a 32 point victory.Â
