Yellow Jackets Fall to #20 Savannah State

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Cardrina Nolen tallied 18 points and nine rebounds, but the Allen women's basketball team fell to Savannah State, 52-79, Saturday at Tiger Arena in Savannah, Ga.

With the loss, Allen falls to 5-15 on the year.

The Yellow Jackets were led by Nolen and Jayda Jackson as they combined for 28 points and 15 rebounds. 

Savannah State came out aggressive, jumping out to a 20-6 lead after the first quarter. 

The Tigers extended their lead to 19 at the half by winning the second quarter, 21-16.

Allen fought to cut into the deficit in the second half but eventually fell, 52-79.

The Yellow Jackets held Savannah State to 2-13 shooting from the field in the fourth quarter and only allowed 12 points. 

For the game, Allen tallied four more offensive rebounds than Savannah State.

Allen will look to bounce back when it returns home to face Voorhees Monday.
