COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen women's basketball team fell to rival Benedict, 54-99, Thursday night at Adams Gymnasium.
Allen was led by Cardrina Nolen who tallied 15 points and six rebounds. Alissa Jones also contributed significantly as she notched 10 points.
The Yellow Jackets struggled behind the arc, shooting a season-low 1-12 and committed 30 turnovers, which proved to be the difference in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter was tightly contested as the teams battled to a 21-17 ledger.
- Benedict pulled away in the second quarter and took a 48-25 lead into halftime.
- In the first half, the Tigers were led by Ayanna Armstead and Ay'Anna Bey as they combined for 29 points.
- The Yellow Jackets kept the rebound margin close in the first half as they only logged three less rebounds than Benedict.
- Taelor Simone Jackson and Jazeem Bethea both tallied six points in the first half.
- Although Allen was unable to cut down the lead in the second half, Nolen shined as she registered 13 points.

Allen will look to bounce back when it hits the road to face Savannah State Saturday.
