JACKSON,
TN - The Allen University men's basketball team ran into a buzzsaw of a team in the second half as SIAC West foe Lane College powered past the Jackets 86-70 in Tennessee on Monday evening.
Lane shot 46 percent in the first half while Allen shot 43 percent as the Dragons took a 37-28 halftime lead. Lane then shot 51 percent in the second half while Allen stayed consistent and shot 42 percent and added five made three-pointers. However,  it was not enough as they could only climb to within 9 points once in the half before Lane pulled away for the 16-point win.
Allen was led by 14 points and 6 rebounds off the bench from junior wingÂ
Tyriq McAdoo while fellow guard, freshman
Peyton Weathersby also scored 13 points with three 3-pointers, 5 rebounds, a team-high 3 assists and a steal. Junior guard
Anthony Baker Jr. was the final Yellow Jacket to finish in double-figure points scoring 10 off the bench with five rebounds and a steal.

Nakia Johnson then registered 9 points and a team-best 8 rebounds with a block over a team-high 31 minutes while senior guard
Darius Williams posted 8 points with an assist and a steal. Sophomore guard
Shawn Jones, Jr. also scored 9 points off the bench with a steal.
Allen falls to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the SIAC while Lane improves to 3-3 and 1-2 in the conference.
Allen will next finally return home to host Kentucky St. on Saturday at 4 PM and then Central State on Monday evening.
