TN - The Allen University men's basketball team fell 75-62 on the road to Lemoyne-Owen College in their SIAC opener on Saturday in Memphis.
After LOC got out to a big 14-point lead at 32-18 in the first half, Allen went on a 8-4 run to end the half down just 8 at 36-28 as AU shot 40 percent in the half, but only made two threes. The Yellow jackets would then go on a 8-2 run to start the second half to get to within two points of the Magicians at 38-36 with 16 minutes left. However, LOCÂ would then stretch it back out to 12 at the 11 minute mark at 51-39 to get the edge back. Allen would climb to within two possessions trailing by just six points with 3 minutes to play, but could get no closer.
Allen was led by senior wing
Cameron Sembly's 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, one block and one steal while junior guards
Anthony Baker and sophomore
Chase Cook each added 11 and 10 points off the bench. Cook produced 3 assists while Baker led the team with 7 rebounds. Senior forwardÂ
Reggie Reynolds also tallied 8 points with 3 boards and a steal while junior wingÂ
Tyriq McAdoo led the team with 3 steals along with 6 points and 3 rebounds. Freshman forward
Nakia Johnson also blocked two shots and had 4 rebounds.
Allen falls to 0-4 on the season and will next remain on the road to battle Lane College in Tennessee Monday evening at 7:30.
