ALBANY, Ga. - The Allen women's basketball team narrowly fell to Albany State, 47-49, Saturday at ASU West Arena in Albany, Ga.
With the loss, Allen falls to 4-9 on the year while Albany State improves to 5-10.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Cardrina Nolen who registered 11 points and eight rebounds while shooting 5-8 from the field. Alissa Jones joined Nolen as the only Yellow Jackets to score in double-digits as she logged 10 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams put together a strong performance defensively as Allen was held to 35.2% shooting from the field, while holding Albany State to 27.6% shooting.
- The Yellow Jackets took a two point lead into the half, but Albany State came out aggressive in the third quarter, winning the frame 21-13.Â
- Allen responded with a stellar performance in the fourth quarter in which it shot 55.6% from the field.
- The Yellow Jackets out-rebounded the Golden Rams, 46-37, while also tallying more assists and blocks as a team.
