Coach Z is a proud native of Ferris, Texas, and brings over 14 years of volleyball experience and a strong passion for helping athletes grow both on and off the court. She began her volleyball career at a young age and went on to play club volleyball for six years, compete as a four-year varsity starter in high school, and play collegiately at Dallas College – Mountain View and Allen University.

Coach Z earned her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Dallas College – Mountain View before continuing her education at Allen University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. During her time with the Allen University volleyball team, she played setter and served as a team captain. She finished her career with over 1,500 assists, becoming the program’s all-time leader in assists. She was named Allen Volleyball’s Newcomer of the Year during her junior season and Allen Volleyball’s Setter of the Year during her senior season.

Her coaching experience includes working with varsity and JV athletes in a high school spring league, coaching youth basketball, and providing private volleyball lessons. As a coach, she focuses on building confidence, developing volleyball IQ, creating strong fundamentals, and helping athletes become better teammates and leaders.

Coach Z currently serves as a Graduate Assistant with Allen University Athletics. Her background in psychology, education, and collegiate athletics allows her to connect with athletes from different perspectives and understand the importance of developing the whole person, not just the athlete. As someone who grew up in Ferris, Texas, Coach Z is passionate about giving back, mentoring young athletes, and helping the next generation reach their full potential both on and off the court.
