Matthew Bennett is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the Allen University basketball program.

Bennett, a native of Walterboro, SC coached last season as an assistant at the D-1 level with nearby South Carolina State for one season. He has also been the interim head coach at a nearby JUCO, USC-Salkehatchie during the 2021-22 season and served as the assistant coach there in 2020-21. He has also been a head high school coach at Branchville HS from 2018-2020 while he served as an assistant coach at Colleton County HS from 2016-2018.
