Duncan Dominates: Allen Running Back Ranks #1 in HBCU DII Rushing

In the News: AU Athletics-Football | 9/19/2025 | By Phil Jackson, Allen University Sports Information Director

Columbia, SC — The secret is officially out. Allen University's sophomore running back Fabian Duncan has taken the top spot on HBCU DII Football's rushing leaderboard, amassing an eye-popping 381 rushing yards through just three games, as confirmed by HBCU Premier Sports. What some may have overlooked early in the season is now impossible to ignore — Duncan is a force, and the numbers speak for themselves.

After his historic breakout performance against Livingstone College — where he carried the ball a school-record 26 times for 198 yards (school record) and a touchdown — Duncan followed it up with another workhorse outing: 27 rushes for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns in Allen's 29-21 win over Lane College, pushing the Yellow Jackets to 1-0 in SIAC conference play.

And while the spotlight has found Duncan, he's quick to redirect the praise.

"None of this happens without my guys up front," Duncan said, referencing Allen's offensive line — a unit affectionately known as "DA VISION." "My QB Jamir [Dismukes] keeps us moving, and our coaches put us in the right position. We grind together, and I just want to keep doing my part for this team."

Duncan's humility mirrors his approach on the field — disciplined, physical, and explosive. Behind a tough-nosed offensive line and the leadership of quarterback Jamir Dismukes, the Yellow Jackets' ground game is becoming one of the most feared in the SIAC.

As it stands, Duncan leads all HBCU DII running backs, surpassing Virginia Union's Curtis Allen (332 yards) and Edward Waters' Johntrarious Thomas (252 yards). But his focus isn't on the leaderboard — it's on the scoreboard.

Duncan is now within striking distance of breaking Allen University's single-season rushing record, and with every carry, he's carving out a legacy that's growing week by week.

Fans can catch Duncan (IG: @shaundxle ) and the Yellow Jackets back in action this Saturday, September 20, 2025, as they return to Fairfield Central High School to take on Clark-Atlanta University.

Kickoff: 6:00 PM
