COLUMBIA, S.C. --- In their final three games of the 2025 season, the Allen University softball team was defeated in three games by Albany State. In game one of a doubleheader Friday, Allen fell 13-5 in five innings. Then in the second game of the series, Allen was defeated 20-2 in five innings. To conclude the series and season, Allen lost 17-1 in five innings.
GAME ONE:
Allen's offense found success early on in Friday's doubleheader with a three-run first inning. With two runners in scoring position,
Alaina Harvey connected on a double to score both
Destiny Breton and
Jeramyah Adams. The Yellow Jackets' plated their third run of the frame later in the inning on an RBI groundout from
Brionna King.
Later in the fifth, Breton and Harvey hit back-to-back doubles to score Allen's fourth run of the game. In the next at-bat, freshman
Tylar Crawford singled up the middle to bring home Harvey.
Breton, Crawford, and Harvey all tallied multi-hit games to aid Allen's efforts. Both Breton and Crawford recorded three hits each, meanwhile Harvey led the team by driving in three of Allen's five runs.

Elissa Rich struck out five batters in five innings of action.
GAME TWO:
The Yellow Jackets brought home two runs in the fourth inning of the series' second game. Harvey and Crawford both singled to lead off the inning, which set up King for an RBI opportunity. It was an opportunity that King capitalized on with a double to bring home Harvey and advance Crawford to third base. Later in the fourth, Crawford scored on an RBI groundout from
Zoe Thompson.
King recorded her first multi-hit performance of the season by finishing 2-for-2 with an RBI double in Friday's effort. On the basepaths, Rich and
Tania Shoulders each stole a base.
From the circle, Rich added six strikeouts to bring her season total to 84 in 3.2 innings of relief.
GAME THREE:
Allen scored one run in the series finale and it came in the fifth inning. After King tripled for the first time in her junior campaign,
Kasiyah Byrd brought her home on an RBI groundout. King and Byrd also each drew one walk.
In two innings of relief work, Harvey struck out two ASU batters.
