JACKSONVILLE, F.L. --- The Allen University men's basketball team fell on the road Saturday night against Edward Waters, 84-57.
After EWU took a 7-2 lead through the first four minutes of the game, Allen responded by outscoring the Tigers 13-5 to take a five-point lead, 15-10, with 12:21 remaining in the first half. The Yellow Jackets maintained their lead until the 10-minute mark when Edward Waters jumped back in front and controlled the remaining minutes in the first half to take a 43-33 lead into the locker rooms. Out of the break, EWU utilized the three-point line by making six shots from distance to build onto their lead. The Tigers' offensive success proved to be too much to overcome for the Yellow Jackets as they were defeated by EWU for the second time this season.
Peyton Weathersby led Allen with 14 points and nine rebounds. Joining Weathersby in double figures was
Jordan Edmond with 11 points. Edmond also blocked two shots in Saturday's effort.
Allen travels to Savannah State for their next game on Monday, February 10. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside Tiger Arena.
