SAVANNAH, G.A. --- After trailing for a majority of the game, the Allen University women's basketball team rallied in the final moments of the fourth quarter to defeat Savannah State Monday, 68-66.
The Yellow Jackets came out of the halftime break trailing by X points eight points, 34-26. In the third quarter, Allen saw the deficit they faced grow up to 12 points before they began to mount their comeback efforts with 6:17 to play in the period. Scores from

JuJu Harrington, and
Nari Coe brought Allen within five points, 50-45, at the end of the third. The Yellow Jackets continue to cut away at SSU's lead in the fourth, and a crucial layup from Clay, with a foul, gave Allen the three point swing they needed to tie the game at 59-59 with four minutes to play. Two possessions later, Clay sank a three-pointer to give Allen a 62-60 lead, and put the Yellow Jackets in front for the first time since they led 4-3 with four minutes into the game. However, SSU battled back to go ahead 65-62 with 1:41 to play. But, it was over those final 101 seconds that Clay and Harrington went a combined six-for-six from the free-throw line to complete the comeback and secure the win.
Clay finished one point shy of her career high as the freshman guard led the Yellow Jackets with 20 points. The freshman guard's performance included shooting 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. In addition to Clay's standout night, Wesley posted her seventh overall, and second consecutive, double-double of the season, with 15 points and a team-best 10 rebounds. Nari Coe with 11 points in 17 minutes.
The close to the regular season draws closer for the Yellow Jackets with five games remaining ahead of the SIAC tournament. Allen's next game will be Saturday, February 15 at Fort Valley State. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. inside HPE Arena.
