COLUMBIA, S.C. --- In their second meeting of the season against Clinton College, Allen University volleyball posted a late rally Wednesday night, winning the third and fourth sets, but ultimately fell short in the fifth set, 3-2.  The Yellow Jackets (2-2) were defeated in five sets (23-25, 15-25, 25-14, 25-23, 15-13). 
The Yellow Jackets utilized a balanced offensive attack Wednesday as nine different players recorded at least one kill. Leading the way for Allen was outside hitter 
Dazzalon Larkins with 13 kills, followed by 
Dacia Lowery (9) and 
Maliyah Spencer (8). Zyara Harrison and 
Nakia Reed combined for 44 assists against the Bears. Harrison also added two services aces, along with Spencer, 
Myra Lopez, and 
Taylor Lawrence each having one. Lawrence also played a critical role at the net as she blocked four Clinton attacks. Also, Allen saw three Yellow Jackets reach double-digit digs including Lopez (27), 
Jaida Jones (18), and Harrison (12). 
The Yellow Jackets travel to Albany, Georgia for the SIAC East Crossover event held Friday, September 20 through Saturday, September 21. Allen will play four matches in total beginning with a matchup against Central State Friday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m.
