COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Allen University's women's soccer team fell Wednesday evening in an in-state battle to Southern Wesleyan University, 7-0.
The first half saw Yellow Jackets' goalkeeper Lillian Chirino-Herrera make four strong saves. However, SWU managed to find the back of the net in the 26th minute to take the lead, 1-0, into the half.
Moments into the second half, Allen went down to 10 players as
Jillian Lackey was issued a red card in the 49th minute. Lackey will serve her one-game suspension in Allen's next match.
With the numbers advantage, SWU was able to score six goals in the second half.
Allen remains on the road for a match this Saturday, September 21 at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. The match will begin at 2:00 p.m.
