COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Allen men's basketball fell in their regular season finale Monday night to Morehouse College, 66-51.
A strong start saw the Yellow Jackets jump out to an early lead, 15-5, nearly four minutes into the contest as
Demetri Patterson connected on a layup to give Allen the double-digit advantage. Then, with 11 minutes remaining in the first half, Morehouse took the lead for the first time, 19-18, and it would be a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the half, taking a 34-28 lead into the half. Later in the second half, a pair of free throws from
Malik Lacewell trimmed the deficit to seven points, 48-41, with 10 minutes to play, but the rally would fall short for Allen as Morehouse closed the game out on a 18-10 run for the win.
G'shan Aldridge led Allen Monday with 11 points to pair with seven assists. Lacewell joined him in double-figures with 10 points, including four made free-throws. Additionally, Patterson and
Peyton Weathersby each scored six points in the effort.
The Yellow Jackets turn their attention to the SIAC tournament, held March 3-10 in Savannah, Georgia. For more information on the bracket and tickets, click
