COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Although they play their closest match of the season, the Allen University volleyball team was unable to overcome Savannah State Friday evening, falling in four sets (27-25, 24-26, 22-25, 23-25). In addition to the match, the Yellow Jackets also honored their three seniors
Dazzalon Larkins,
Taylor Lawrence, and
Sydney Ross for the contributions to the program.
A pair of Yellow Jackets reached double-figures in kills Friday, as Larkins led the team with 15 kills and a .316 hitting percentage, followed by
Jaida Hansen with a season-high 13 kills and a .344 hitting percentage.
Nakia Reed recorded her third match this season with at least 20 assists, as the freshman finished with a career-best 24 against SSU. Reed posted a double-double, as the freshman also recorded 14 digs.
Myra Lopez led Allen with 17 digs.
Allen remains on the road and faces a quick turnaround, as the Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow, Sunday, November 10 at Fort Valley State. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Fort Valley, Georgia.
