ATLANTA, GA - Allen University sophomore QB
David Wright was named as the
SIAC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Friday.
Wright helped lead Allen to a season opening 24-17 win over Erskine last weekend by throwing for 370 yards and two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He completed 17 of 28 passes on the night including a game-clinching 69 yard TD pass to RB
Alan Riggins in the fourth quarter.
Wright led Allen on three touchdown drives and five overall scoring drives.
He will next lead Allen into a second straight home game against Columbus State University on Saturday at 7 PM from Westwood HS in Blythewood.
