Box Score ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Allen University men's basketball team rallied to knock off Fort Lauderdale (FL) 78-75 in Saturday's consolation game of the HBCU Classic, hosted by the University of the Virgin Islands.

Shooting Guards Austin James and sophomore Peyton Weathersby led the Yellow Jackets as James scored 20 points on 8 of 14 shooting with 3 three-pointers, 4 rebounds and a steal while Weathersby had a season-high 19 points with 8 rebounds, 3 assists, a block and a steal on 6 of 9 shooting.

UFL led 39-38 at the halftime break as Allen shot 61 percent in the first half. AU then outscored the Eagles 40-36 in the second half for the 3-point win. AU went on to shoot nearly 54 percent for the game and held the Eagles to only 45 percent.

Junior point guard G'Shan Aldridge also had a solid game scoring 15 points and 7 assists and 3 steals while forward Tavis Bridges scored 11 points with 3 boards and a block.

Allen will next have a few weeks off for the holidays before finishing up SIAC West conference play with a pair of games in Alabaman on Jan. 4 and 6 against Tuskegee and Spring Hill College.
