COLUMBIA, SC - The Allen University volleyball team completed their season on Saturday afternoon falling in four sets to Clark Atlanta University from Adams Gym.
Clark won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20 before Allen came back to steal the third set from the Panthers 25-23. However, CAU closed out the match with a resounding 25-14 win.
Allen was led by freshman hitter
Tahmiah Lawson with 11 kills along with 3 blocks and 2 digs while junior right side hitter
Sydney Ross tallied 9 kills with 4 blocks and hit .200. Senior setter
Kayla Chambliss had another good game recording 19 assists, 5 kills, 5 digs and 3 aces while hitting .286. Fellow setter, junior
Lillian Williams finished with 11 assists, 3 kills, two aces and three digs.
Freshman libero
Myra Lopez led the team with 12 digs while outside hitter
Natalia Maciejewska finished with 10 digs, 3 kills and an ace. Senior middle
Marlaysia Westbrook and sophomore hitter
Maliyah Spencer also combined for 5 kills, 2 blocks and a dig.
Allen finishes the season 15-14 overall and 7-12 in conference while CAU improved to 20-9 overall and 14-5 in the SIAC. Clark finished in third place in the division while Allen came in 5th place tied with Savannah State. Only the top four teams qualify for next week's SIAC Tournament.
