COLUMBIA, S.C. - To cap off Allen Football's best season in school history, the Yellow Jackets will close their 7-2 season with a rivalry matchup at undefeated #1 Benedict College (9-0) at Charles Johnson Stadium in Columbia at 2 PM.
This is third meeting since Allen reinstated football in 2018 but the 23rd meeting overall since the 1940s. Allen leads the series 13-9. The two rivals have a combined 16-2 record on the season.
#7 Allen is coming off a demolition of Edward Waters on homecoming weekend winning 59-21 for their 7th win of the season and 5th conference win as they sit in a tie for 3rd place in the SIAC Standings.
Allen is led by SIAC Passing Leader, QB
David Wright as he has thrown for 2,963 yards and 18 touchdowns this season while completing nearly 60% of his passes and rushing for 4 touchdowns as well.
RB
Beau Herrington is also a leader on the team rushing for 639 yards and 10 touchdowns this season while catching 25 passes for 325 yards and two more scores. WRs
Deyandre Ruffin and
Armone Harris also lead the receiving corp as each has caught over 35 passes and more than 600 yards apiece with nine touchdowns.
The game will be
broadcast on Black College Sports Network (BCSN) and fans will also be able to
listen live to Saturday's Allen radio broadcast for the game at Benedict. The broadcast will begin at 1:45 p.m., with kickoff to follow at 2:00 PM with announcer Cade Crenshaw.
