TOCCOA FALLS, GA - The Allen University women's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 shutout win over NAIA foe Toccoa Falls College on the road Friday evening.
AU rode the strength of three goals from freshman striker
Tatyana Machado, who notched her second hat trick of the season. Machado now has 13 goals on the season.
The WIN is Allen's 5th of the season, continuing the best season in Allen soccer history.
Machado scored her first goal in the 32nd minute off an assist from junior midfielder
Tonie Sledz before scoring her second goal of the game just 12 minutes later in the 44th minute just before halftime off an assist from fellow freshman
Alexia Velasquez. Allen went into the intermission leading 6-4 in shots.
In the second half, AU was actually out-shot by the Lady Falcons but Allen's defense and goalkeeper
Kaiyah Robinson kept TFC off the board. Machado notched her third goal then in the 62nd minute off another assist from Sledz to clinch the hat trick and the win for the Yellow Jackets. Machado also led the Jackets with 7 shots on goal.
Robinson (2-4) recorded six saves on six shots on goal for her second shutout of the season and 2nd win of the year.
AU will return home on Monday for their home finale when they host USC-Beaufort at 1:00 pm from the SC United Complex.
