TN - The Allen University women's basketball team held off SIAC West foe Lemoyne-Owen College 50-47 on the road Saturday afternoon in Memphis.
Allen improves to 3-1 on the year and 1-0 in the conference with their opening SIAC win.
A low-scoring first half saw Allen outscore the Lady Magicians 11-5 in the first quarter and 15-11 in the second to take a 26-16 lead at the break. AU held LOC to just five-made baskets in the first half.
Lemoyne (0-4) then came back to outscore the Jackets 18-9 in the third quarter to trail Allen by just one point at 35-34 heading to the fourth where AU controlled it 15-13 by making their layups down the stretch for the win.
Allen was led by 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting as well as 2 rebounds from junior guard

Destinee Jamison-Whitfield also finished in double-figure scoring with 10 points.
Senior guard
Jazeem Bethea also posted 9 points with a steal off the bench while junior forwardÂ
Jaida Reddin also added 4 points and a rebounds.
Allen will next remain on the road to battle another SIAC West foe when they head to Jackson, TN to face Lane College on Monday at 5:30 pm.
