FL - The Allen University football team fell 38-12 on the road at new SIAC foe Edward Waters University (Fla.) in their season finale on Saturday evening.
Allen took a 6-3 lead after the first quarter as freshman WR Armone Harris caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from fellow freshman QB Daniel Plummer to complete a 4-play 76-yard drive. EWU then added two 20-yard passing touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 17-6 lead at halftime.
The Tigers then extended their lead to 24-6 in the third quarter behind another passing touchdown before adding two more scores in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Allen scored their second touchdown of the game late in the fourth as sophomore WR Jayden Horace caught a 21-yard TD pass from Plummer. Horace had a career day as a receiver catching a season-high 7 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.
Sophomore RB Beau Herrington also rushed for a season-high 120 yards on 14 carries. Plummer threw for 147 yards on 14 of 24 passing with two TDs and two interceptions.
Defensively, junior linebacker Gary Bourrage led the squad with 8 tackles and a TFL while Artavon Edmond recorded a sack.
Allen finishes the year 1-8 overall while EWU closed out their second NCAA season at 5-6.
