FL - The Allen University volleyball team fell 3-0 on the road at SIAC foe Edward Waters University on Sunday afternoon. EWUÂ won the first two sets by scores of 25-20 before dominating the final set 25-8.
Allen got out to a 9-3 lead in the opening set before EWU rallied to take a 14-12 advantage. AU would then get to within 21-20 before the Tigers closed out the set reeling off the last four points on kills as they totaled 16 in the set hitting .238 while Allen still managed 10 kills and only 2 attack errors. The second set saw the match even at 10 points apiece before EWU went on a 10-3 run to extend it to 7 points at 20-13. AU would then climb to within 23-20, but could get no closer. The final set saw the home team get out to a 10-6 lead before then hitting their stride and going on a match-ending 15-2 run as they took advantage of some Yellow Jacket errors to get the win.
Allen was led by 7 kills and a block from freshman outside hitter
Maliyah Spencer as she hit .235 while junior OH
Natalia Maciejewska tallied 6 kills with 2 blocks and 2 digs. Junior middle
Marlaysia Westbrook also played well posting 5 kills with 0 errors to hit .417 along with four assisted blocks and 2 digs. Junior setter
Kayla Chambliss then added 18 assists and 13 digs for another double-double along with 2 aces and a kill.

S.C. - Allen then returned home to host Edward Waters on Tuesday but fell 3-0 at Adams Gym. EWU dominated the first set en route to a 25-6 win before taking the following two sets by scores of 25-12 and 25-12.Â
EWU hit .433 in the first set on 17 kills before hitting .346 in the second set with 11 kills. The Tigers forced the Jackets into multiple hitting and block errors as EWU only made 9 attack errors on the night.

Maciejewska as she hit a team-best .176 with 3 digs. Spencer then totaled 3 kills with 2 digs and an ace while freshman
libero Jayla Neely led with 12 digs. Chambliss also added 8 assists, 4 digs and a kill as the Setter.
Neely now has over 300 digs on the season and has reached double-digit digs 18 times.
Edward Waters improves to 20-9 overall and 13-2 in the conference while Allen falls to 11-13 and 5-9Â in the SIAC.
AU will next hit the road for three matches in Georgia over the weekend. They will first battle Fort Valley on Thursday evening before facing Albany St. on Friday and finally Paine College on Saturday at 2 pm in Augusta.
