COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen University Volleyball team dropped a heart breaking five-set match at home to Johnson & Wales University on Thursday evening from Adams Gym.
Freshman OH
Maliyah Spencer led the Jackets again with 20 kills for her second straight game of 20 kills or more. She hit .293 with 4 blocks and 4 digs while freshman middle
Jani Smith played very well tallying 7 kills with 2 aces, 3 digs, and 5 total blocks including 2 solo. Smith also hit a season-high .385.
Allen dominated the first set en route to taking it 25-17 on 9 kills before holding off the Wildcats 25-22 on 16 kills in the second set hitting .222.
JWU then rallied to take the third set 25-23 on 13 kills before controlling the fourth set 25-18 with 12 kills hitting .257. AU then got out to a quick 3-1 lead in the fifth before JWU went on a big 8-0 run to essentially put away the match as they hit .529 in the decider on 10 kills.

Kayla Chambliss also played well posting 44 assists with 4 kills, 4 digs and an ace for her second straight 40+ assist game. Fellow setter/DS
Jyla Clayton registered 15 digs and a team-best 4 aces while freshman RS
Cadence Leaks recorded 8 kills with 3 blocks. Freshman libero
Jayla Neely also posted her third game this season of 20+ digs with 21 digs, 3 kills, and an ace on the night.

Natalia Maciejewska also combined for 9 kills.
Allen falls to 10-10 on the season while JWU improves to 11-16. AU will get the weekend off before remaining home to host conference foe Fort Valley St. on Monday evening at 6:30 PM.
